Food Guard is a product I developed in Project 1 with my group. It was my first major project, and it taught me a lot of new skills. Our project's theme was Intelligent Agents, and because we were all interested in sustainability, we selected the topic of food waste. After much brainstorming, discussing, and designing, we arrived at our concept, Food Guard.
We aim to use Food Guard to reduce food waste and make it easier to maintain your food storage. We do this by utilizing an intelligent agent that scans the things you put in or take out of your cupboards using cameras attached to the kitchen cabinets and refrigerator with an adhesive strip. The camera sends this information to the app, which provides an easy overview of your food storage. For added convenience in the kitchen, a phone holder is incorporated. You will receive reminders in the app about things that are due to expire, as well as ideas for recipes that you could prepare with those products.
