As a final project in the Creative Electronics course, I created a self-watering plant. The project required you to use all of the abilities you acquired in the course in your created project. I thought it would be great to design a self-watering plant because I want to incorporate sustainability and nature in my designs.
I designed the plant pot in Blender, a 3D program, and 3D printed it using PLA with a wood grain. Furthermore, the plant pot is divided into three parts. The plant pot itself, the water reservoir, and the electronics module. The plant pot uses a soil moisture meter to determine whether the plant still has sufficient water. The LEDs on the side indicate how much water the plant has. When the plant requires water, water is pumped through the reservoir to the plant until it no longer requires water. If you want to water the plant manually, there is a button on the back. The poster with text information and the demonstration video may be seen below.
