THIJS REIJNDERS
How I became a designer, but also the person I am today, is due to the projects I did in high school. I've always been a creative person who enjoyed drawing. In high school, I began to further develop myself in this area and gain a better understanding of myself. Various projects, such as my Profielwerkstuk and Honors program, have helped me realize how much I enjoy sketching and designing, and that I want to do more with this in the future (C&A). In addition, by adding messages to my artworks, I also found out how I want to design my projects. Climate change is a recurring theme in my artworks. As a result, I have discovered that I want to do something with sustainability and that I want to ensure that we can save our beautiful planet.
Aside from being highly artistic, I also recognized that technology and programming were two things that I was interested in (T&R). I took a computer science course in which we were required to complete a variety of programming exercises, and I really enjoyed it. I grew fairly competent at programming as a result of these projects, as well as the energy I put into them in my own time, and I was even asked to create a website for a customer (U&S).
All of these projects and learning opportunities have shaped me into the designer I am today. A designer that aspires to make a creative and sustainable contribution to the world. These projects have also helped me establish goals for the future, since I believe it is critical that I continue to challenge myself and learn new things.
A drawing that represents man's blindness to nature and its essence. I made this artwork to make people think and encourage them to do something about climate change.
